Welcome to our brief overview of the Breakdance program! You will find on this page basic information for all levels of dance experience. Please do not hesitate to contact our Breakdance department via our support center for any additional questions or concerns!

If this is your first visit, please read our project introduction first!

GENERAL
Our Breakdance department represents the project's definitely coolest program with many additional free time activities, like group clubbing in your city. There are no restrictions regarding age or physical limitation. Members of this department dance depending on their level in one of the following 2 groups:

• Beginner [BEG]
• Advanced Intermediate [AIN]

Those 3 digits in brackets will later appear in your member ID and after a while may change to a higher level as you're taking your moves to a next level. You can select in your application in which group you would like to dance. You would not need to provide additional information! After your first workshop and recommendations from your instructor, you may change your level. If you plan to apply to the Advanced Dance Team (ADT), you have to be in the AIN group.

THE WORKSHOPS
Workshops will take place at various dance studios and of course on the streets of NYC as well as at dance institutions all over the US and usually take around one hour in the evening on weekdays and on a few weekends. Members of all other categories will be also invited. -- Quick note: There'll be no catering service unlike at our ADT meetings.

Come and celebrate New York's over 35-year-old (Bronx) street dance culture, together with the city's best DJ's. The finest toprock, the fastest downrock, the flashiest power moves and most impressive climactic freezes at one single place. We wanna see your moves! The motto: having a great time! At our workshops you can present whatever you like most and just have fun with other dancers from your area. Over the year, there'll be many different workshops offered. -- You will receive all details via e-mail.

THE ADVANCED DANCE TEAM
As soon as you get admitted to the ADT, you will be dancing with the city's best breakers and work on an impressive club show, which will be performed in the best clubs of NYC or your capital city and will furthermore appear worldwide in the motion picture in 2010. As a department crossover performance, all ADT breakdancers will dance at the world's most famous arena, the Madison Square Garden. Transportation and accomodation for all events will be covered by the NY Dance Project! Team meetings take place in your city once every week before an upcoming major event and are coordinated with every member.
